PUEBLO Board Supports Task Force
PUEBLO Board endorses AB 1118 to establish a Procedural Justice Task Force. AB 1118 would:
- Establish a Procedural Justice Task Force to manage grant funding to local law enforcement departments for the purposes of implementing and enhancing procedural justice training.
- Require the task force to serve in an advisory capacity to sites that are implementing procedural justice training, including the development of a community of practice plan.
- Establish minimum grant eligibility criteria, such as the inclusion of implicit bias training, modules led by community partners, and performance reviews to assess competency in procedural justice.
- Require the Task Force to work with the Commission on Police Officer Standards and Testing to develop a model procedural justice training curriculum.
