PUEBLO Leadreship Board Bios
PUEBLO's most
active and committed members are elected to the leadership board, which is the decision
making body of the organization. In 1995, PUEBLO leaders developed a new leadership board
to exercise more direct control over the management of the organization. The board meets
monthly, in addition to an annual planning retreat, and is representative of the
organization's racial, lingual, class, gender, and generational diversity. Consisting of
two elected members (treasurer and chair), an elected youth representative, a
representative of PUEBLO's fiscal sponsor the Center for Third World Organizing (CTWO),
two at-large members appointed by the Board, and an additional board-appointed ally from
an outside organization, the Board always has at least five of its seven members directly
representing low-income constituencies. The Board appears at bi-monthly membership
meetings to ensure their continued accountability to the membership.
