PUEBLO Dinner Outstanding!

PUEBLO's 20th Anniversary Dinner was outstanding by all accounts! We had to scramble to find enough chairs to seat the overflow crowd that attended. Everett & Jones had to keep the food coming from their van to accomodate everyone on the line, and the West African Dance Troupe Diamano Coura drew a rousing ovation after their amazing performance.

PUEBLO chose to present its annual Community Leadership Award to Mayor Dellums' 'education czar' Kitty Kelly Epstein. Kitty has been at the forefront of the fight for social justice and education reform for many years, and was chosen by Mayor Dellums to convene the over forty task forces that began work soon after his election.

Thanks to everyone who attended, purchased ads in our dinner book and contributed to our very successful fundraising event. 2010 promises to be full of productive activity that moves forward social and economic justice in Oakland.
