PUEBLO
PUEBLO CO-SPONSORS MAYORAL FORUM ON PUBLIC SAFETY
PUEBLO invites you to participate in a Mayoral Forum on Public Safety Issues scheduled for Thursday, July 15th at 7 PM at the Lakeshore Baptist Church, 3534 Lakeshore Avenue.
There can be no doubt that public safety issues, including police staffing costs, Measure Y, the gang injunction and community policing practices are among the greatest areas of concern to Oakland residents. We believe that clarifying the candidates’ positions on these, and other public safety concerns, will allow voters to make an informed choice on Election Day in November.
So far, co-sponsors include the Oakland Black Caucus, the Paul Robeson Chapter of the ACLU, the John George Democratic Club, the Wellstone Democratic Club, BWOPA (Black Women Organized for Political Action) Oakland's New Leaders, and Oakland Seen. The Forum will be moderated by Aimee Allison.
We are encouraging attendees to pre-register and arrive between 6:30 and 6:45 so that the Forum can begin promptly at 7:00 PM. But please come, even if you haven't pre-registered! There will be light refreshments available. Register at http://oakmayorpublicsafetyforum.eventbrite.com/.
