PUEBLO co-hosts Fruitvale Listening Session

PUEBLO co-hosted a Fruitvale Listening Session with La Clinica de la Raza on behalf of the Oakland Food Policy Council on July 28th. The Council was interested in getting input from the residents about many issues they've been working on, related to whether folks have access to fresh, affordable healthy foods.
The Oakland Food Policy Council was initiated by the Life Enrichment Committee of the Oakland City Council, establishing Food First as the incubator and providing start up funds. Since then, the Council has worked on a variety of issues, such as community gardening, farmers' markets, distribution and retail outlets, vendors, and land use issues.
Two additional neighborhood sessions are planned: one in West Oakland and one in East Oakland.
