PUEBLO TABLES AT KAISER HEALTH FAIR

Kaiser Permanente Northern California Community Benefits Program sponsored a one day Employee Health Fair from 8 AM to 4 PM on Wednesday, September 15th. PUEBLO was invited to participate, along with other organizations that provide healthful programs that promote well-being and fitness.
PUEBLO promoted its Urban Youth Harvest Program, which is supported by Kaiser Permanente Community Benefits.
Many of the participants had heard of the program and those who had not were delighted to learn about it. Manuel and Bernardo staffed the table, which included recently harvested apples and oranges from Oakland's back yards! They were able to explain to folks how young people harvested the excess fruits in Oakland and donated them to low-income seniors. PUEBLO signed up several new fruit donors and also were able to promote the Oakland Food Policy Council which many people didn't know about.
